Woo Fighters of CSU Northridge

President: Alex Swan  email:csunpresident@woofighters.org
I am currently a graduate student at CSU, Northridge in the General-Experimental Psychology Master’s Program. I’ve been interested in scientific skepticism since I began my psychology college career in 2005. I watch a lot of movies, TV, and news programs. My interests are in cognitive psychology, social cognition, and media biases.

As an undergraduate I attended CSU, Northridge and obtained a B.A. in psychology and philosophy. Currently I am a graduate student in the General-Experimental Psychology MA Program. My general interests lie in the areas of cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, cognitive science, social cognition, evolutionary psychology, philosophy of science, probability theory, quantum physics and physics in general. More specifically, my research focuses on decision making and problem solving and the implicit and explicit processes that underlie and affect both.

Erin McMichael I am currently a Psychology undergraduate at California State University, Northridge. My academic interests lie within social psychology; stigma, social justice, civil rights, intergroup relations and complex social identities. Outside of academia and to make a living, I tend bar and entertain the masses by karaoke DJ’ing. In my spare time I often play World of Warcraft, obsess over dolphins and make fun of infomercials.

I am a skepticism activist, cognitive psychologist, and lecturer at CSU, Northridge. My research interests include several areas of perception and cognition. In addition to teaching statistics, research methods, and topics in cognitive psychology, I promote critical thinking, science, and skepticism through my blog, ICBS Everywhere and through outreach. In 2008, I co-founded the Critical Thinking Education Group along with several other education and skepticism activists.
